Warrenton, VA (April 26, 2026) - For the first time in history, we have a Special Olympics athlete from Fauquier County representing Team Virginia at the Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis, Minnesota this June. Raegan Robertson will be competing for Team Virginia on the bocce team.
Raegan has been involved in Special Olympics for 15 years. Besides bocce, she also has participated in swimming, volleyball, basketball, bowling, track & field, and tennis. Through Special Olympics, Raegan has been able to try new sports, meet new people, and travel to new places. She is proud of mastering her sports and continues to work hard to improve. She has competed at the state level in swimming, bocce, and bowling and is excited for the opportunity to compete at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in bocce.
Raegan is a Liberty High School graduate and currently works at Fauquier High School. Raegan enjoys dancing, painting, and doing crafts, and stays active in her community by volunteering and helping in school programs.
As she prepares for USA Games, she is training by staying active, watching what she eats, and practicing bocce, and says she is proud to be part of something bigger than herself.
Raegan’s parents would like to attend USA Games but the cost is a barrier – please spread the word for anyone who would like to donate to help them! https://gofund.me/468dd7cd0
Area 27 Fauquier County Special Olympics will be recognizing Raegan on Friday, May 1st during First Friday in Warrenton. She will be honored between 7:00 – 7:30 pm on the main stage near the courthouse on Main Street. Please come show your support for this young lady as she accomplishes something no other athlete in Fauquier County ever has!
